The 30-year-old classic management book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, written by Stephen Covey has sold over 40 million copies. Habit 2 has become iconic: Begin with the end in mind, but this basic idea is not new. It is reflected in the apostle Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonians, which is the basis for the sermon series, “Living Like He’s Coming,” in which we will explore this and other original, life-changing ideas.
Tucked away in the closing pages of the New Testament are two short notes of encouragement that are easily overlooked and rarely studied: 2 & 3 John. And they are addressed to obscure recipients. So, how can these be an encouragement to us today? That’s precisely what we are going to discover in this series.
The title of this sermon series, “So You Can Know For Sure” is taken from the stated purpose for Luke’s gospel given in its introduction. Luke wants to set the record straight for his friend, Theophilus, so he can know for sure the most important things about Jesus, including Christmas.
