WHAT WE BELIEVE

Our Statement of Faith

THE BIBLE is the inspired Word of God. It is without error in its original writing, and is our final authority under God for what to believe and how to live.

GOD exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

JESUS CHRIST is God, the Son.

THE HOLY SPIRIT draws people to Christ, leads them to faith, and equips them to serve.

HUMANS were created in the image of God, but fell into sin, and are hopelessly separated from God apart from Christ.

SALVATION. Christ’s death and resurrection provide the only basis for our salvation. We are saved from the penalty of our sin by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

ALL BELIEVERS in Jesus should observe baptism and communion, though these are not a means of salvation.

ALL WHO HAVE BELIEVED in Jesus Christ are members of God’s universal Church.

IN THE FUTURE, Jesus Christ will take believers from the earth before a time of earthly tribulation. After the tribulation, He will return to the earth to rule it for 1,000 years.

ALL PEOPLE will one day be raised from the dead. Believers will live forever with the Lord. Unbelievers will live forever apart from the Lord in eternal judgment.

MEMBERSHIP. Only those who have believed in Jesus Christ may become members of Moon Valley Bible Church (MVBC).

CHURCH GOVERNANCE. Under Christ, MVBC has the right and responsibility to govern its own affairs.
